Pro bono lawyer of the year

The Lawyers for the Public Good – Hungarian Pro Bono Award was established in 2011 by PILnet (Global Network for Public Interest Law) in cooperation with the Hungarian Bar Association. Each year, two awards are presented: one to a law firm and one to a lawyer who has served the public good through outstanding pro bono work over the past year. PILnet (Global Network for Public Interest Law), together with the Hungarian Bar Association, chose Kinga Zempléni as the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2016.

Our law office places great emphasis on pro bono work. We provide labor law advice to a number of NGOs; we conduct labor law audits, advise on working time schedules and also undertake litigation.

Our office works closely with the Budapest-based PILnet Foundation, which, as part of the international PILnet network, has been assisting non-profit organizations in Hungary and the region since 2002, in addition to providing free (pro bono) legal support, through training, research, publications, promotion of pro bono work and the organization of related events.

Kinga Zempléni is an active member of the Association of Hungarian Women Lawyers. Kinga is the pro bono coordinator in the association.
